Dan Petriw: Isles win a thriller over the Sharks
- Dan Petriw

"Last night was one of those games where I would have been fine, regardless of the outcome. The Islanders were flying, generating scoring chances, and moving their feet the entire night. We all know this team is not going undefeated, but I for one can live with losing games if I’m seeing the effort that the Isles are displaying on a nightly basis"

Well said Dan and good blog. I do believe Grabovski will be out for an extended period of time though. If it's not a concussion(which I'm still saying it is)then I'm going to say bruised/broken ribs by the way he was skating off(which was positive). Either way I see him needing some time.

great win for the Isles.

I hope Grabovski is alright...that BUM Scott should be scraping paint off a wall instead of playing NHL hockey!!

I agree. I was fine even with a loss. The team played very well and cut down on the turnovers from the Ranger game. I would also have to think Grabo will be out a while.

They pretty much out played them. The Sharks had good zone time but our defense kept them to the outside and limited their shots for the most part.

Hate to say it but it was a clean hit. He's still scum, but the hit was good. The injury was just the result of a tricycle going head on with a freight train.

oh i agree it was clean; it was blindsided though grabo didnt see him coming at all...could have let up, but, hes a goon, cant expect that...a real hockey player might have knocked him on his ass, but not tried to crush him like that goof.

all in all a good game hopefully grabo is not out for too long

im a leaf fan, but i do like seeing the isles do well...its been a while.

it would just be nice to notice clutterbuck and martin more. Martin seemed to play well last night but clutterbuck wasn't really noticeable.

both of them need to be better, cizikas frankly is the only reason that fourth line isn't being dominated every shift. He could play third line center on a decent team if he continues to play this way. I've been really impressed with the difference in determination and work ethic so far this season. He needs to keep it up though. Just like Bailey, 4 games isn't enough (although I'm hoping I have to admit I was wrong about bailey)

From the second period on. Cizikas has been playing well but giving a fourth liner with the hands of stone 18 minutes a night seems a little off to me. With that said they're winning so whatever works. Also, they were dominated a few times in the first period. Sharks had them pinned a couple times from the second on they turned their game up a notch.

Don't worry as soon as they lose a game it will be Martin & Clutterbucks fault

BUF will trade the 2015 first pick back to us in March for a mid level prospect so they can get some value from it.
